Bye Bye Belly Bloat! 5 Simple Tips To Flatten Your Stomach Starting Today

Bloating is a very uncomfortable issue which affects a surprisingly large number of people. It looks and feels unpleasant and even though it’s temporary if it happens frequently you should definitely do something about it. Here are a few tips which can help you flatten your stomach starting today.

Say bye-bye to belly bloat with these 5 simple tips

Cut off Salt

Salt is an essential part of every healthy diet regimen. However, if you eat too much salt, your body will retain water, causing a water-electrolyte imbalance, which is as unpleasant as bloating.

Excessive consumption of processed food, snacks, frozen meals, fast food, and other unhealthy products is a good sign that you are most likely consuming too much sodium.

Adding more salt to your meals are another indication that you eat too much sodium. Stored carbs retain water three times more than protein does, so if you really fancy pasta and cereals, make sure you add more protein and cut off some of the carbs.

Drink Water

You should increase the amount of water you drink on a daily basis. Drinking water releases stored cellular fluid and this means a flatter tummy! If your body is slightly dehydrated, it’s literally crying out for water.  It needs that water for every single process in it performs, so it holds onto it because it does not know when it will have enough again.  If this is the reason why your belly bloats, drinking a few more glasses of water will restore your flat belly. You should drink a minimum of half your body weight in ounces.  For example, if you weight 120 lbs, drink a minimum of 60 ounces daily.

Avoid Chewing Gums

Chewing gums encourages swallowing more air, and filling your stomach with air is same as you do when blowing up a balloon. What about sugar-free gums? That is a double whammy!

Stop the Fizz

Carbonated drinks are the worst when it comes to bloating. These bubbles stay in your GI tract and become trapped and gas builds up. If you suffer from bloating often your best choice of action is to give up all kinds of sodas, diet ones as well.

Avoid Fake Sugar

Artificially sweetened products are loaded with sugar alcohol, sugar substitutes and even natural products that cause bloating and severe gastrointestinal disorders. Avoid diet soda, chewing gum, candies, protein bars and other similar products.

There is a single healthy exception: Xylitol (pronounced Zi-Li-Tol), a sugar alcohol. Excessive consumption of xylitol has only a slight potential to cause digestive problems. It is healthy as it has a minimal effect on blood sugar level, and none on insulin levels.

These simple tips will help you reduce bloating today.
